GASTRONOMY SHOW ROOM 👨🏼‍🍳👩🏻‍🍳

The Gastronomy Show Room was an activity in which the apprentices presented a recipe in English, saying the ingredients 🍅🥕🧅, the instructions to prepare it 🍳🔪🍽️, and some characteristics 🌶️🌿. The goal of this activity was letting the apprentices to interact with all the SENA community in this foreign Language about a gastronomy topic, taking advantage of this folklore time in Tolima.

Even though, Sena focus on technical English according to every program, the Bilingualism team wants to encourage the students to perform this kind of activities because, someday, if they have the opportunity to apply to some vacancies abroad, they sure will face different day-to-day situations such as buying food in a supermarket 🛒 or ordering at a restaurant 🍽️. So, with this event, the apprentices learned not only to work in teams 👥 and some about budgets (to buy everything for the recipe) 💰, but new vocabulary 📚 and improved their English fluency and pronunciation 🗣️.

La muestra Gastronómica 🍽️ fue una actividad en la que los aprendices presentaron una receta en inglés, diciendo los ingredientes 🥕🍅🧅🧄, las instrucciones para prepararla 🥣👩‍🍳🔪 y algunas de sus características. El objetivo de esta actividad era que los aprendices interactuaran con toda la comunidad del SENA en esta lengua extranjera sobre un tema gastronómico, aprovechando esta época folclórica que se vive en el Tolima 🎉🎊.

Si bien, el Sena enfoca un inglés técnico acorde a cada programa, el equipo de Bilingüismo quiere incentivar a los estudiantes a realizar este tipo de actividades ya que, si algún día tienen la oportunidad de postularse a vacantes en el exterior, seguramente se enfrentarán a situaciones del día a día como comprar comida en un supermercado 🛒🍞🥦 o hacer un pedido en un restaurante 🍽️. Entonces, con este evento, los aprendices aprendieron no solo a trabajar en equipo y sobre presupuestos (para comprar todos los ingredientes y materiales requeridos para la receta) 💰💼, sino también vocabulario nuevo para mejorar la pronunciación y fluidez en el inglés 📚🗣️.
